THE WRTI SERVICE AWARDS
Posted by Jerry Klein | ||
(The following discussion of the WRTI Service Awards was apparently written by Dr. Delwin
Dusenbury and appeared in the 1967 Annual Banquet Program.)
Conscientious completion of staff responsibility is acknowledged by the awarding of the WRTI pin.
Meritorious service "above and beyond" the call of duty is acknowledged annually by the faculty and
graduate staff in selecting the recipients of the WRTI Service Awards. The Service Award represents
the combined consideration and judgement [sic] of the entire Radio-Television-Film Faculty and of the
Graduate Assistant Supervisors.
Eventually, in the new building of the School of Communications and Theater, the names of those who have been acknowledged worth of the Services Awards each year will be placed on a plaque as the WRTI Honor Roll. This tangible symbol, however, is in now [sic] way commensurate with the intrinsic merit acknowledged by the faculty and graduate staff. The Award may be made in any of the following categories (not listed in order of importance):-

No attempt is made to select an award recipient in every category each year.
The criteria for the Award may be simply stated as follows:
We will recognize the recipient of the 1967 Service Awards tonight and we will look forward to honoring YOU next year. Dr. D. (Note: To my knowledge, the WRTI Honor Roll, though it still exists, was never put on display in "the new building." - Jerry Klein)
