I also read with sorrow the plans to tear down Thomas Hall, my home away from home at
Temple before we moved across the street.
My memories are vivid such as the day comic
B.S. Pully visited us at the station for an interview and proceeded to have us in stitches, especially
when he said "F--K him" as Professor Blenheim walked by. Or remembering that Merrill Reese,
the voice of the Eagles on radio, had his name carved in cement at the top of the steps leading to
the Thomas Hall studios. Or the World War II surplus stickers still inside some of the desk
drawers in the studios. If the powers at Temple seriously believe destroying tradition will bring an
increase in enrollment they should check with the alumni who write the checks every year. I for
one would not feel as generous.
