: EMERGENCY!!!!!! I am truly distressed to learn that Thomas Hall might be demolished. Not only do I hate to see graceful, majestic, structurally sound buildings demolished in the name of "progress" or "expediency", but Thomas Hall holds fond memories for so many music alums. I cherish a PHILA. BULLETIN photograph taken in Thomas Hall of me, as a student soloist, rehearsing with Eugene Ormandy during preparations for the forthcoming performances of Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Phila. Orch. Please preserve Thomas Hall. Wouldn't it make a fine archival site or museum? Marianne Grzywacz, BS in Mus. Ed., 1959.
: Temple University has gained the first approval (of two) to demolish Thomas Hall. WE MUST STOP THEM!!! The Philadelphia Historical Commission will hold a hearing on Wednesday, June 10, 1998. WE NEED YOU TO COME TO TESTIFY. State that you do not want Temple to tear down this historical building, erected in 1886. Originally the Park Avenue Methodist Church, it is the oldest remaining structure on the University's campus. All the information is on the Front Page of our Web Site.
