That article about hanging the original WRTI-FM transmitter because of the psychology lab animals is hysterical!!
Of course when we went 790 watts the ITA 500A transmitter had to sit on the floor, but remember, there were some things like the high voltage transformer that were also sitting on the floor--outside the racks.
One day the transmitter suddenly shut down. When they went up to investigate there was a dead lab turtle on the transformer. This was one of the turtles with little green plastic boxes cemented on their heads to connect electrodes. The turtle had committed suicide on our transformer!
Ah yes, stained glass windows in the men's room, and lab animals in the transmitter. Where else but WRTI!
