In case you missed what I said on the front page, here it is again.
At 6 pm on Wednesday, August 26, 1998, Gerry Wilkinson received a call from a telemarketer from
Temple University. They were trying to raise money for the University and especially to help build
the new dormitory which will stand partially on the site of Thomas Hall. Needless to say, Gerry said
he wasn't interested and said a few other things to them. However, this is a family oriented site. The
telemarketer said that the were contacting all SCAT graduates from 1940 to 1969. Gerry said that
SCAT (School of Communications & Theater) didn't even exist until 1967. The telemarketer said,
"Well, all Communication students since 1940." Gerry said the Radio courses (a forerunner of
Communications) didn't start until 1946. The telemarketer said, "Well, everyone with BS degrees
from 1940 to 1969." Gerry said, "That's more like it. Temple's known for its BS." It went over the
telemarketer's head.
By the way, when you refuse the University, please make it a point to tell them why.
