Nate Friedman

His Story

The following is written by Gerry Wilkinson.... Nate was one of the very first WRTI people. Graduated in 1953, he started at WRTI in September of 1949. After Temple, Friedman went to work at WCAU-TV, then owned by the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin. Once there, he was cast to be in the original bunch of actors for "Action in the Afternoon," aired over the CBS Television Network daily at 4:30 pm. Later, Nate went back to school and became an attorney. He now practices law in Cherry hill, NJ.

In the February 29, 1952 leap year issue of the Temple University News, Jessie Blosten writes....

Nate Friedman is a determined young man. He knows definitely what he wants - a job in professional theater - and why he wants it.

Nate is a senior majoring in public administration but his first love is theater. After graduation he wants to act or direct in live theater or television....

He has had experience in both semi-professional and University theater. He worked in summer stock at the Cecilwood Theater in Fishkill, NY, and in Philadelphia Experimental Theater which produces original plays by new authors.

Nate has also appeared in "Within Our Gates" and now acts on "Magic Books" over WFIL. He is production assistant to Mrs. Stan Lee Broza of "The Children's Hour."

At the University he has appeared in "Strife" and "Two Blind Mice" and worked at WRTI, acting and announcing.

...In "The Wingless Victory," to be presented by Templayers next month. Nate has the leading role....

In a different article in the same issue, the Temple News states...
