Gil Thompson

His Story

On Sunday, March 28, 1999, Gerry Wilkinson spoke with Gil Thompson via the telephone. Gil was graduated from Temple University in 1952.

He then went to work for WCAU-TV and during the time that Channel 10 originated ACTION IN THE AFTERNOON, performed on that CBS-TV show.

He later went to Channel 6 and then back to WCAU-TV. Later he went to Columbia Records.

In partial retirement, Gil lives in State College, Pennsylvania and does some consulting from time to time.

He's also a member of the Philadelphia Broadcast Pioneers.
