: And Bill, I WAS there. I was holding up the cue-cards to tell you which field reporter to
go to next. It was my first big broadcast!
Actually, Bill, to prove it, I still have the ACTUAL CUE CARDS!!! They were numbers 1 thru 6 in bright red marker, and on the back are the names of the reporters and the locations. I also have the instruction sheet for the engineers recording those beeper reports which is also the list for the anchors, and the instruction sheet for the reporters. I have the university press release that was sent out before the broadcast, and I have the credit sheet listing who filled the different studio positions. Mike Muderick's job was to cue up the tapes of the beeper reports on the maggies.
Bill Stock was Production Supervisor, S. B. was Director and Joe Horowitz was Producer and one of the three anchors. The other two were Joan Honic and Mr. Sevier. Larry Barsh reported returns in the studio. Jane Lessner and Emily Marie Trotter worked the adding machines, and Rosylin and Marlene Patrick were typists (of course.) Bob Cirillo monitored a television, and Doris Abelson watched the teletype which we had moved into studio B. In addition to Mike Muderick on the playback and myself on the cue cards, the beeper reports were recorded by Rick Bersh and Sam Strauss.
The locations and reporters were: #1: Philadelphia Democratic Headquarters: Susanne Ross, Bernard Kirsch, and Joe Connally; #2 Philadelphia Republician Headquarters: Bob Liefert and Mickey Saperstone; #3 Camden County: Bert Medley and Alvin Brill; #4 Montgomery County: Pete Gamble; #5 Delaware County: Bob Donze and Hillary Schacter; and #6 Bucks County: Carl Potnick.
I was
standing to the far left of the board at the window near where the phone was. Simmy was
standing between me and turntable one. When she was threatening to strip she was standing right
next to me, or actually she was climbing up onto the table next to the turntable. So I would have
had the best view if she had gone thru with it. Mike Muderick, you were behind her standing by
the maggies in the rack.
