To put the control room mic on the air, you needed to put the vertical switch on the right side of the board down to "local" first. Then open Mic 4 and throw the line out switch to the right. This is assuming that the fourth and following steps such as the bus box and turning on the xmitr were already done. If you threw the mic 4 switch and the line out switch before the remote local switch went down, then you'd put the studio mic on the air. Not good when someone was violating rule 43G in the studio. Do you remember what that was?
2. To put the turntable on 45, you had
to move the slider bar on the platter table itself and then throw the speed switch. This changed the
gearing. That was something you could really sink your teeth into.
