> To put the control room mic on the air, you needed to put the vertical switch on the right side of the board down to "local" first. Then open Mic 4
Ah, but what is the proper procedure for opening the mic? Forget the line out switch and the buss box. You're already in the middle of a program and have been on the air for a while.
> and throw the line out switch to the right. This is assuming that the fourth and following steps such as the bus box and turning on the xmitr were already done.
> If you threw the mic 4 switch and the line out switch before the remote local switch went down, then you'd put the studio mic on the air. Not good when someone was violating rule 43G in the studio. Do you remember what that was?
You've got that Line Out switch fetish. The mic wouldn't be put on the air unless something else had been done, but it would disturb the studio since the light would come on and the monitor would mute. Was rule 43G Talking in the studio/hall, or smooching in the studio/hall?
> 2. To put the turntable
on 45, you had to move the slider bar on the platter table itself
But to which position did you have to throw this slider bar??
> and then throw the speed switch.
And which direction did THIS switch have to go?
> This changed the gearing. That was something you could really sink your teeth into.
Remember, this had originally been designed as a two-speed turntable.
